Info session for anyone interested in learning more about becoming a member of NE Village. No registration required.
Monthly meeting for the Communications, Marketing and Outreach Team. Note: this month‘s meeting was originally scheduled to be held virtually.
We‘ll be discussing the memoir, Up Home: One Girl‘s Journey by Ruth Simmons. Simmons’s evocative account of her remarkable trajectory from Jim Crow Texas, where she was the youngest of twelve children in a sharecropping family, to the presidencies of Smith College and Brown University. “The book shines with tenderness and dignity.”
This book group is currently full and unable to accept new members. Please contact the Village Manager if you are interested in forming or joining a new book group.
Fleur de Lis Bakery & Cafe
Looking to reconnect with old friends and/or make new ones? We‘re starting a new/old tradition of women gathering together to discuss anything and everything while enjoying a cuppa. Meet on the outdoor patio. No registration required - just show up! This group will meet bi-weekly.
Rose City Park United Methodist Church, conference room
As we age some of us have family or friends who will provide care or support for us if needed, and some of us do not. Even if we have children, they may not be available or able to provide support. Discuss your feelings, experiences and concerns surrounding aging without family or social support. Share ideas about ways to strengthen your social and safety networks.
Facilitated conversation by 2 trained facilitators who have been trained to talk about topics related to aging. This is a safe space for everyone to share and explore topics in greater depth, and offers an opportunity to connect with others in our Village community.
Presented by Cascadia Health: Conversations on Aging in partnership with NE Village.
