NEV Summer Gathering 2022

Intro to the NE Community Center Merger

As NEV has continued to grow and evolve over the years, so too did our needs. In late winter of 2022, following two plus years of living through a pandemic, Village members and volunteers embarked on a path to begin thinking about our future. Two "World Cafes" were held to help generate ideas for our next steps, with a particular eye on sustaining the Village both financially and staffing-wise.

Serendipitously, Bill Farver, a new Village volunteer, stepped forward to connect us with the NE Community Center (NECC) with a proposal that we explore the possibility of a merger. That subsequently led the Governing Council (GovCo) to create the "Exploratory Team" comprised of Todd Coward (GovCo Chair), Anne Lindsay (GovCo member), Neil Malling (Village Treasurer), Bill Farver (volunteer) and Teri McKenzie (Village Manager) that was tasked with exploring a merger and ultimately, guiding the membership through a process of deciding whether or not to proceed with the merger.

Below are the various documents and information related to the merger.
